About the Founding Artists
Three prominent Las Vegas artists have joined forces formally to assist others through their art.Individually, these artists have helped numerous charitable organizations by donating art to be sold at various fund raising events. To date, they have through their generous donations combined to help raise over $150,000 for these organizations.
The senior artist of the group is Joseph Palermo. Recently named "Artist of the Year" at the ARTV Fine Art Awards ceremony held at the MGM Grand, Palermo’s work spans four decades and runs the gamut of engagement with most of the deconstructive formal and stylistic innovations of the twentieth century, including Cubism, Futurism, Expressionism, Surrealism, Action Painting and egometric abstraction. Palermo is committed to the art community in Las Vegas where he has lived and workedsince 1994. He feels that Las Vegas is rapidly becoming an art center and he wants to be a part of it.
Jennifer Main, a native Las Vegan, is one of the area’s youngest and most successful emerging artists. Now in her early 20s, Jennifer sells her artwork throughout the U.S. and has a growing list of collectors worldwide. Main’s contemporary, expressionistic paintings present her interpretation of the human figure and face to express and evoke intense emotions. Key elements include vivid colors, and often the eye as a reflection of the human soul and spirit. Jennifer has a true passion for art and is a prolific art donor to charities.
Steven Spann recently moved to Las Vegas from Texas to pursue painting full time. Spann’s signature works on large canvases typically exhibit bold colors, dynamic brush strokes and passionate energy. Within the movement and flow one can, however, see structure and logic. Many of Steven’s paintings are done right hand or left hand exclusive but the majority of his work is compositionally structured with the right hand while the overlying color and depth is applied with the left. Spann has a passion for giving back to the community by "putting light into dark places" through donations of his work to charity fund raising.
Each artist has a gallery in the downtown Las Vegas Arts District. Palermo recently moved his Gallery P to the Holsum Lofts at 231 West Charleston. Spann has a gallery in the Arts Factory on Charleston and Main shares gallery space in the Holsum Lofts and the Arts Factory. Each of the artists exhibit works for sale that benefit www.ArtGalleryforCharity.com charities in their galleries in addition to having works for sale on this website. Learn more about these three artists by visiting their www.ArtGalleryforCharity.com galleries.
Check back periodically to view (and purchase) their works and the works of other artists that will be joining the site gallery in the near future.
